Hadoop Apache is designed to scale up from one server to Hundreds of machines, each offering storage, and computation.
Apache Hadoop divided into two major layer-
- Storage layer (Hadoop Distributed File System)
- Processing/Computation layer (MapReduce)
The Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) is the storage system that is primary and used by the Hadoop application. It is designed to run on commodity hardware based on the Google File System. It designed as deployed on low-cost hardware and it is highly fault-tolerant. There are significant differences from other distributed file systems. It provides a DataNode and NameNode architecture to execute a distributed file system that provides high-performance access to data over highly scalable Hadoop clusters.
There are two components more in Hadoop storage layer-
- Hadoop YARN − This is a schedule of activities and management of team resources.
- Hadoop Common – This is Java library and utilities required by other Hadoop modules.
MapReduce is a programming model designed for processing large volumes of data alike by dividing the task into a set of independent functions. It is also called a processing layer of Hadoop. You just need to place business logic the way MapReduce works, and then the framework can handle other transactions.
Work of Hadoop
To build larger servers with heavy configurations is quite expensive that handle large-scale processing, but as an alternative, you can connect many computers to a single CPU, as a single, distributed system, and virtually group machines can read the data set in parallel and deliver much faster speeds. Plus, it’s cheaper than a tall server. So this is a motivating factor behind the use of Hadoop, which uses low-cost machines.
Hadoop can runs code over the bunch of computers. There are many tasks which Hadoop work-
- Data is created in a separate file. Files are written in a 128M and 64M format (preferably 128M).
- HDFS, at the top of the local file system, monitors processing.
- Boxes serve as a benchmark for the use of emergency equipment.
- Code execution successfully executed.
- Performing the type that takes place between the map and reducing the degrees.
- Send sorted data to specific computers.
- Create debugging logs for each task.
Advantages of Hadoop
There are many Advantages of Hadoop Apache-
- Hadoop framework allows users to quickly build and test distributed systems. Efficient, automatically distributes data, works across multiple systems, and leverages the native parallelism of the CPU cores.
- Hadoop is not ashamed of slave devices to provide fault tolerance and high availability (FTHA). It’s better to detect himself up in the library are not designed for Hadoop, as the inscription is utilizing the application of the layer, and that the breaches began to be.
- Servers can be dynamically added or removed from the bunch, and Hadoop continues to operate continuously.
- Another great advantage of Hadoop is that, in addition to being open-source, it is compatible with all platforms, as it is based on Java.
